Oakland Community College (OCC) has five campuses throughout Oakland County, and is the largest community college in Michigan. The Royal Oak Campus is home to the school's photography and general studies programs, and consists of four buildings grouped around a full-service library and two-story center mall. Also located on the campus is the Lila R. Jones-Johnson Theater which hosts concerts and events jointly planned with the community. Just a short walk from the school are galleries, boutiques, and restaurants.

Oakland Community College is located near the Detroit Zoological Park, Stagecrafters Baldwin Theatre, Landmark Main Art Theatre, Royal Oak Music Theatre, and Rackham Golf Club.
